Maelee & Ian – Riviera Maya | Mayakoba Mexico Wedding
If you love coastal weddings, this post is for you! My first destination wedding to Riviera Maya, Mexico! Her wedding boasted Mexican culture, coastal vibes, with a twist of beachy elegance. The Baby’s-breath floral arches on the beach were a staple. Not to anyone’s surprise, her wedding was featured in a wedding publication! I knew if I was going to travel far for a wedding, it was going to be for Mae! Every luxurious detail was absolutely breathtaking. Read more about the details from Mae and Ian’s lavish Mexico wedding! Get the details on how we achieved her look…
For Mae’s makeup we went for a really bronzed makeup look. I love how it complimented her old hollywood style curls. The products used had to combat oily skin. Her skin is flawless but immediately gets a shine if the right products are not used.
The Best Makeup Products for Oily Skin
Anything matte! You don’t want to use anything hydrating as that can produce more oils or shine. The best kept secret is using stick deodorant as a primer. This keeps your face from sweating and producing oil. Her face was COMPLETELY matte all day. It rained and was over 100 degrees in Mexico. This trick was put to the test.
Best Foundations for Oily Skin
My favorite foundations for oily skin are Dior Forever Matte, Gucci Full Coverage Luminous Foundation, or Estee Lauder Double Wear.
The Best Primers for Oily Skin
The best primers are Smashbox Photo finish, Hourglass Veil Primer, Tatcha Primer, or Milk Hydrogrip. Setting any of these with this Charlotte Tilbury Setting Spray, is a chef’s kiss! Amazing.
I have been wanting to do this post for over a year now! Wow does time really get away from you sometimes. This was hands down one of my favorite weddings I have ever done! I knew if I would travel far for anyone, it would be for these girls! I have done the bride and bridesmaids makeup over 5 times now! They are always the sweetest, funniest, intelligent and most down to earth girls. They have been friends for years and have a really bonded friend group. These girls you want to hangout with 24/7 they are so much fun!
My favorite details were the costume dragons they had at the reception, her stunning baby’s-breath arch for the ceremony, and the coastal vibes. Patty, the event planner, truly saw the vision and brought it to life. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your special day!
