Front Roe Travel Guide: The Algarve, Portugal
We had a lovely family break in Portugal in May, my parents came along and it was special to spend time together as three generations! We have been back to the Algarve coast in Portugal, we love it there and it’s great for kids.
Find my favourite spots below:
Eat:
Pure – for a great morning coffee or smoothies, the daily fresh quiche here is also my favourite lunch.
Pequeno Mundo – for dinner in the most romantic setting, you walk through the courtyard of an old house, covered in bougainvillea, to the back garden for Aperitivo.
Casa de Lago – I love this spot! They serve the best pale rosé and fresh fish- right on the lake.
Visit:
Algoz flea market – A charming, traditional flea market where you can find beautiful handmade ceramics and wicker as well as local produce.
Cabanas de Tavira – a picturesque former fishing village that is absolutely worth a visit and has the most beautiful beaches!
Loulé Market – For the freshest, most delicious produce, fish and more. Located in a beautiful neo-Arabic building that dates back to 1908, this hall is surrounded by a charming maze of narrow cobbled alleyways and traditional houses.
