Our Dream Wedding
It seems very fitting to share today our wedding photos! Today has been 6 months of being married already; time flies when you’re having fun! Sharing all of our wedding details today! I can’t wait to share with you a look into our fairytale wedding. The vibe for our wedding was southern charm, elegant with a twist of couture. The hours that turned into days, made our wedding an absolute dream. Sharing my biggest piece of advice for brides, and what happened the day of my wedding! A look into the most special day of our lives we will always remember.
Today’s post is a little different, I am finally sharing the wedding of our dreams! I’m sharing all the amazing vendors that made our day perfect; also what products I used to achieve my wedding look. I will say, being a wedding vendor myself, I now have an entirely new appreciation for what brides go through! I truly never knew how much work planning a wedding was. I have an entirely new respect for each and every one of you..
At our venue, we had to bring literally everything in and those small details can be super overwhelming at times. Thankfully we had the right people to help and guide us to make it more manageable. We literally wouldn’t do anything differently! We have no regrets, and it was the best day of our lives! I hope all my brides can experience that on their wedding day.
The biggest advice on your wedding day
This is so cliche because literally, everyone says this, but BE PRESENT! Don’t worry about the details…let the cards fall where they may. Everyone told me, “It will go so fast. Enjoy the moment.” or “Don’t worry about the small details, something will happen that’s not perfect.” That couldn’t be more true! So I took this advice and ran with it….
IN THE MOMENT- Being was so present when I walked down the aisle, I totally forgot we hired a violinist to play when I walked down. I didn’t even remember that until our honeymoon; I remember asking my husband, “were they even there?!” Walking down the aisle at our cathedral was one of the best moments of my life. One thing I did, was made sure to take it all in; I love looking back at these wedding photos. Photos really capture the moments perfectly! The best investments you can make on your wedding day is your hair, makeup, and photographer. Photos are worth everything to look back on.
“Not everything is in your control”…
This is also something so many told me. Whatever happens at your wedding is out of your control. Something will happen, you just have to go with it. Well.. what I did at our wedding was absolutely in my control! Now looking back, its one of our best memories. When we were cutting the cake, I remember being told, “really get it in there. There is cardboard holding it together.” So I did!! When I cut the cake, the entire first layer of cake fell off! Landed right on the table; thankfully not the floor. Thankfully our wedding coordinator April witnessed it and immediately ran over, flipped it back on top and said try it again!! To this day, for some reason it did not register to us to pick it up. I don’t know if it was shock, or embarrassment but we didn’t think to pick it up!
The most important thing to make things run smoothly
A TIMELINE! Every vendor needs a copy of it. April, from Your Perfect Day, makes the most detailed timeline Ive ever seen. Our timeline was so tight, so it was super important that everyone stayed on schedule. Time goes so quickly, so someone there to execute the timeline helps tremendously, so don’t miss anything and get every shot you want. Talking over your timeline with all of your vendors is really important. As the BRIDE..NEVER go last for hair or makeup. You want to relax and enjoy the day. The last thing you want is to be rushed and anxious. If your vendors are using good quality products, an hour or two difference isn’t going to make or break you going a little earlier in the day. The hair and makeup is either going to last, or not. Always do a trial, or two before your big day! Leave it on as long as you can.
